Tyler Anderson, CPA, who's working concept follows the mantra "It doesn't have to be this way," is dedicated to finding better and more efficient ways of doing everything. Tyler previously practiced in public accounting and in state government internal audit.

Tyler has also served in the Minnesota Army National Guard for the past 20 years, currently as a Field Artillery Captain with the 34th Infantry Division. His military service includes:

  • Leading 180 Soldiers providing security throughout Minneapolis during the Derek Chauvin trial (2021)

  • Officer-in-Charge (OIC) for Task Force Covid, Community Based Testing Sites across 16 locations spread throughout the State of Minnesota (2020-2021)

  • Leading a battery of 90 Soldiers in providing security in Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN during the civil unrest following the death of George Floyd (2020)

  • Security team for city of Minot during flood fight (2011)

  • Deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Convoy Escort Team Gun Truck Commander (2009-2010)

Since joining ACCOUNTability Plus, LLC, Tyler has focused his efforts on providing A&A firm leaders guidance on achieving a more efficient and accurate approach to their client services by challenging their current approach and workflow. His areas of expertise include:

  • Real-time continuous audits

  • Test and critique of data tools

  • Challenging workflow paradigms in Single Audit engagements

  • Analysis of current audit tools and methodology application

  • Comparison and challenge of audit approach to audit standards

  • Challenging status quo of mindless roll-forward by taking a thoughtful approach to audit planning leading to client advisory

This unique combination of his military experience and public accounting expertise influences his approach to teamwork, workflow, and continuous improvement. His experience on the team has included work as a key developer on CPA.com's award-winning OnPoint PCR platform and methodology.

Tyler holds a Bachelors of Accounting from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
